I had the most incredible experience with Unscripted Safaris! From the moment we were picked up at the airport, everything was perfectly organized. Our guide, John, was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we had the best game viewing opportunities. We saw the Big Five within the first two days! The accommodations were luxurious, and the food was delicious. The whole trip was seamless and truly unforgettable. I highly recommend Unscripted Safaris for anyone looking for an authentic and well-organized safari adventure.

Our family trip with Unscripted Safaris was fantastic! The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to explore different national parks without feeling rushed. The safari vehicles were comfortable, and our guide, Mary, was very friendly and informative. The highlight was definitely the Maasai Mara, where we witnessed a spectacular wildebeest migration. The only minor issue was the Wi-Fi connectivity at one of the lodges, but that didn’t detract from the overall experience. We'll definitely book with Unscripted Safaris again!

Unscripted Safaris delivered a wonderful safari experience. The booking process was smooth, and the staff was responsive and helpful with all our queries. Our guide, Peter, had an incredible eye for spotting wildlife and shared fascinating insights about the animals and their habitats. The camps we stayed at were clean, comfortable, and provided a real sense of being in the wild. The only downside was the long drives between some parks, but the breathtaking scenery made up for it. Overall, a great adventure with lasting memories.

Unscripted Safaris curated the perfect itinerary for us, knowing how much we wanted to see elephants. Amboseli National Park, has some of the largest elephant herds in Africa, and we were lucky enough to get up close to these gentle giants. The towering presence of Kilimanjaro in the background made every photograph look like it was out of a movie. Our guide, Peter, was knowledgeable and incredibly passionate about elephant conservation.

If witnessing the Great Migration is on your bucket list, Unscripted Safaris delivers in spades! We camped right by the Mara River in the Maasai Mara, and got front-row seats to the dramatic wildebeest crossing. I still can't get over the tension as the wildebeest made their move and crocodiles lurked in the waters. The guides at Unscripted really know their stuff, getting us to the best spots without disturbing the animals.

Staying at Ol Donyo Lodge in the Chyulu Hills, which offers views of Mount Kilimanjaro, was simply surreal. The lodge is just a short drive from Amboseli National Park. The safari was thrilling, but it was the night-time experience that really blew me away. Sleeping on an outdoor rooftop bed, under a sky blanketed with stars, was unforgettable. The sounds of distant lions and hyenas gave me chills in the best possible way.

Unscripted Safaris introduced us to something I’d never expected to love—walking safaris. We explored the Loita Hills, guided by Maasai warriors, just north of the Tanzania border. Unlike vehicle safaris, being on foot brings you so much closer to the land and the wildlife. We learned how to track animals by following footprints and even tried some of the local medicinal plants. Crossing from Kenya into Tanzania was seamless, thanks to the efficiency of Unscripted Safaris. Our journey took us to the Ngorongoro Crater, a geological marvel near the Serengeti. The sheer number of animals we saw in this natural amphitheater was staggering. From lions lounging in the grass to black rhinos grazing in the distance, Ngorongoro is an absolute must-see

Lake Natron, located right on northern Tanzania, was a birdwatcher’s paradise. I was blown away by the sight of thousands of flamingos creating a sea of pink against the salt flats. Unscripted Safaris tailored the experience to our interests, providing a private guide who helped us spot rare species like the African spoonbill and black heron. It was refreshing to be in such an off-the-beaten-path location.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Loisaba Conservancy, located north of Mount Kenya, but just a day’s drive from the Maasai Mara. It's lesser-known compared to other parks, which is exactly why we loved it—no crowds, just pure wilderness. We had the opportunity to see elusive species like the endangered Grevy's zebra and even did a camel safari! If you're after a more tranquil experience, this is the place

Visiting a real Maasai village near Mara North Conservancy was a highlight for me. This wasn't one of those overly-touristy stops where you feel like an intruder. Instead, the visit was deeply respectful, and Unscripted Safaris made sure it was a genuine cultural exchange. We participated in traditional dances, learned about Maasai beading, and even got a lesson on how to start a fire using sticks. The authenticity of the experience was remarkable.

Crossing the border from the Maasai Mara in Kenya to the Serengeti in Tanzania was a smooth and thrilling part of our adventure. Unscripted Safaris had all the paperwork sorted, so we didn't waste time at the border. The best part was that the wildlife action continued uninterrupted—we spotted cheetahs and giraffes as soon as we entered the Serengeti. It was an absolute joy to watch the landscapes and wildlife transition between the two countries.

Unscripted Safaris timed everything perfectly, including our stop at Naabi Hill Gate as we entered the Serengeti from Kenya. Watching the sun set over the endless plains from this viewpoint was unforgettable. The way the light faded over the horizon, with wildebeest and zebras silhouetted against the sky, was one of the most peaceful moments of the trip.

Tarangire National Park in Tanzania, just south of Lake Manyara, was an unexpected gem. Known for its elephant population, we spent hours watching herds of them, some with babies, crossing the Tarangire River. The huge baobab trees and quieter atmosphere compared to more famous parks made it feel like we had a slice of Africa all to ourselves. Unscripted Safaris made sure we had time to soak it all in.

Michael

Kenya

As a solo traveler, I was worried about feeling isolated, but Unscripted Safaris made sure I had the adventure of a lifetime. I went on a cultural tour mixed with game drives, and it was amazing. I got to spend a day with the Maasai community and learn about their lifestyle. The safari drives were action-packed, and the guides made me feel completely safe throughout."

Unscripted Safaris took us on a walking safari through the Mara North Conservancy, far from the typical tourist trails. This intimate experience, accompanied by an expert guide and a Maasai tracker, made us feel like explorers. We encountered giraffes and zebras at a distance, and the guide pointed out smaller things we would’ve missed in a vehicle, like fascinating insects and tracks left by a leopard the night before.

Our stay at Tortilis Camp in Amboseli National Park gave us an incredible view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Waking up each morning to see Africa’s highest peak emerging from the clouds was breathtaking. Unscripted Safaris ensured we had the best vantage points for photos and even arranged a breakfast picnic in the park, with Kilimanjaro as our backdrop.

If you're into history and archaeology, make sure you visit Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania. Unscripted Safaris arranged a fascinating stop here during our Serengeti tour. It's considered the ‘Cradle of Mankind,’ and seeing the place where some of the earliest human fossils were discovered was humbling. The small museum was informative, and the surrounding landscape, with its layers of earth exposed by erosion, is a geologist’s dream.

One of my favorite moments during our safari in the Serengeti was seeing lions sunbathing on the kopjes—those iconic rock formations scattered across the plains. Our guide from Unscripted Safaris knew exactly where to find them. We spent nearly an hour watching a lion pride lounging on the rocks and occasionally getting up to stretch or scout for prey. A truly iconic safari experience.

Unscripted Safaris included a stop at Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant village near Lake Manyara, where we got to experience Tanzanian culture up close. We toured the bustling markets, sampled delicious local food (the banana stew is a must!), and visited an artist cooperative where we learned about the Tingatinga painting style. It was a wonderful, immersive break from wildlife viewing and gave us insight into local life.

Drifting over the Maasai Mara at sunrise in a hot air balloon was the absolute highlight of our safari with Unscripted. From up high, you really get a sense of how vast and teeming with life the Mara is. We saw hippos in the river, giraffes nibbling on treetops, and even a cheetah on the prowl, all from the comfort of our basket. The champagne breakfast in the bush afterward felt like something out of a dream.

Our stay at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge was nothing short of magical. The lodge itself is perched on the crater's rim, offering unparalleled views of the wildlife-filled basin below. After a day of game drives where we spotted everything from elephants to a pride of lions, returning to such opulence felt unreal. The rooms are designed to feel like a palace, but you're still connected to the wild—zebras would sometimes graze right outside our balcony.

Tsavo East National Park blew me away with its sheer diversity of wildlife! Unscripted Safaris took us deep into the heart of this vast park, and the red dust-coated elephants are something I’ll never forget. Watching these massive herds march across the open plains with that iconic reddish hue was incredible. The park is also home to the famous 'Man-Eaters of Tsavo' legend, and the guide made sure to share the history as we passed near the infamous spot.

Lake Nakuru National Park was an absolute must for bird lovers like me. The sight of thousands of pink flamingos feeding along the lake’s shores was mesmerizing. Our guide from Unscripted Safaris was so knowledgeable, helping us spot other unique bird species like the African fish eagle and pelicans. Of course, we also saw white and black rhinos—Nakuru is one of the best places to see them up close. The contrast between the lake’s waters and the surrounding forests was stunning.

Kenya

Ol Pejeta Conservancy was one of the highlights of our Kenyan safari. It’s not just about seeing the Big Five—Unscripted Safaris arranged for us to visit the last two remaining northern white rhinos, which was both awe-inspiring and heartbreaking. The conservancy’s commitment to conservation was evident, and we even got the chance to do a special rhino-tracking experience with armed rangers. I can’t recommend this enough for those looking to combine wildlife and conservation efforts.

Kenya

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy felt like a private piece of heaven. The landscapes were pristine, and it was much quieter than other parks, so we often felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Unscripted Safaris set us up with an amazing guide who had a deep passion for the region's wildlife, especially the endangered Grevy’s zebra and black rhinos that Lewa is famous for. We stayed at a beautiful lodge overlooking the plains and even saw wildlife right from our deck!

Kenya

Amboseli is every elephant lover’s dream, and Unscripted Safaris knew exactly how to get us those up-close, magical moments. We saw massive herds of elephants, some with adorable calves, all against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. The contrast between the dry, dusty plains and the greenery around the swamps where elephants gather was striking. The park’s unique wetlands attracted a wide variety of birds too, so there was never a dull moment.

Unscripted Safaris took us on an adrenaline-pumping adventure at Hell’s Gate National Park. It’s one of the few parks in Kenya where you can actually cycle and walk amongst wildlife! We biked through the stunning gorges and past towering cliffs, seeing zebras and warthogs along the way. Hell’s Gate is also the inspiration behind Disney’s The Lion King, and you can absolutely see why—the rock formations are otherworldly. A perfect blend of adventure and nature!

Samburu National Reserve was a standout on our safari. It’s located in Kenya’s northern region and offers a very different wildlife experience from the southern parks. Thanks to Unscripted Safaris, we got to see the 'Samburu Special Five,' which includes the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, and Beisa oryx—all species you won’t easily find elsewhere. The landscape of rugged hills, acacia trees, and the life-giving Ewaso Ng’iro River was absolutely beautiful.

Lake Naivasha was a peaceful stop on our Unscripted Safaris tour, and a real highlight for me as an avid birder. We took a boat ride on the lake and were amazed by the sheer number of birds—herons, kingfishers, and of course, African fish eagles that swooped down to catch fish right in front of us. The lake’s calm waters, with Mount Longonot in the distance, created the perfect backdrop for photography. We even saw hippos lounging in the water during the ride.

Staying in the Laikipia region was such an enriching experience. Unscripted Safaris took us to the Borana Conservancy, where we were immersed in their efforts to protect endangered species like the black rhino. The rolling hills and rocky outcrops of the Laikipia Plateau made for some stunning scenery, and the lack of crowds meant we often had the landscape to ourselves. This is a fantastic area for those who want to learn about conservation while enjoying luxury accommodation and incredible wildlife sightings.

The Aberdare National Park was a completely different experience from the open savannahs of other Kenyan parks. Unscripted Safaris took us through the misty, dense forest, where we spotted some of Kenya’s more elusive wildlife like the bongo antelope and Colobus monkeys. The park’s waterfalls were breathtaking, especially the Karuru Falls, which drop nearly 300 meters. We stayed at The Ark, a lodge designed for wildlife viewing at a watering hole, and it was magical to see animals like elephants and buffalo gathering at night.
